Matinee show, 3pm

Laz Slomovits is one of the twin brothers in the Ann Arbor folk duo Gemini. Though he still performs mostly with his brother, Laz jokes that when he plays solo or with other musicians, “it’s just a Gem of a show!” This show will feature his award-winning original songs as well as his settings of poems by the ancient mystics, Rumi and Hafiz, and American classics by Emily Dickinson and Robert Frost, among others. Laz, a fine singer and multi-instrumentalist, will be joined by widely published poet, Jennifer Burd, who will add the enchanting sound of the bowed psaltery to the songs. One of the highlights of their show is their trademark spontaneous “haiku & penny whistle.”
Laz and Jennifer will be accompanied by friends and wonderful musicians, Eric and Mary Fithian, who will add their instrumental and vocal expertise to the music. Eric and Mary will also performs classic American songs from their extensive repertoire. A concert of great variety, flair and warmth, performed by four talented, big-hearted musicians!

Suggested donation $20 per person. No fees when you pay by cash/check at the door. We are unable to accept credit cards at the door; only online in advance via Eventbrite.

(Laz and Jennifer will also present two or three songs in the 10am service at Grass Lake United Methodist Church, 449 E Michigan Ave, on Sunday, March 22.)
